Historic Jamestowne and Chesapeake Experience Present
Jamestown Ecology and Archaeology Camp

For Children Ages 8 to 13

Join the Jamestown Rediscovery team and Chesapeake Experience and explore the ecological and historical world of Jamestown. Children will learn about nature, history, and archaeology during these fun and interactive two-day summer camps. Tuition for the two-day camp is $200 per child.

On day one Chesapeake Experience will provide a great day of fun learning about the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay! Campers will kayak in Powhatan Creek, collect and identify species, play games and lots more!

On day two Jamestown Rediscovery staff will share with kids the techniques used to uncover Jamestown. Campers will be able to participate in a simulated archaeological dig, sort, pick, and screen through 17th century material, and interact with 17th century historical figures!

Historic Jamestowne is jointly administered by the National Park Service and The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (on behalf of Preservation Virginia) and preserves the original site of the first permanent English settlement in the New World. Preservation Virginia (the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities) acquired 22.5 acres in 1893 and retains the private ownership of that land. The National Park Service acquired the remaining 1500 acres on Jamestown Island in 1934.
